Five teams of construction companies are vying to build the $1.17 billion I-70 East project for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). The project includes adding a tolled express lane in each direction, removing a 50-year-old viaduct and lowering the road along a stretch of the interstate.
CDOT is seeking a private partner to design, build, operate, maintain and finance the I-70 East project.
