Developed by Monadnock Construction, New York City's first micro-apartment complex is wrapping up construction. My Micro NY will feature apartments that measure 250 to 370 square feet.

The building was designed as a means to accommodate the growing need for affordable housing for singles. My Micro NY has nine floors with 55 apartments — 22 of which are set aside as affordable units with eight set aside for the city's homeless vets.

Construction of the building included fabricating the units at the Brooklyn Navy Yard then importing them to the site at 335 East 27th St. in Manhattan's Kips Bay neighborhood. The units were then stacked together and building amenities, elevators and stairs were added.
