This year Build Your Future is giving out prizes to the first 10 states who officially proclaim October as Careers in Construction Month.
To participate you must:
- Email Megan Cooper when you have submitted your proclamation request. She will light up your state on the map and share it on social media throughout the entire month.
- Email Megan Cooper a picture or a copy of your official proclamation document, along with the organization receiving recognition for your proclamation. You'll receive: Recognition in our "2017 Wall of Fame" photo album on Facebook; Shout outs on social media tagging your organization; Chances to win any one of our 10 prizes
How to proclaim:
Requesting a proclamation is easy. Head to your governor's website and search for proclamation requests. This information can be found in our proclamation website guide.
Proclamations can take four to eight weeks be approved, and it must go through your governor's office. Most states have a simple online form to fill out, but some states still require a paper or emailed proclamation.
"Where As" statements are generally required. These are the terms of your proclamation. Copy the text from this sample proclamation and fill in the necessary information.

1st Place Winner: The first state to officially proclaim will win a $100 gift card to celebrate Careers in Construction Month with their staff and a BYF swag box.
2nd Place Winners: four states can win a $50 gift card to celebrate Careers in Construction Month with their staff and a BYF swag box.
3rd Place Winners: five states can win a BYF swag box.
