New Holland Construction announced on August 19, 2025, the launch of its D-Series mini excavators with the debut of the E42D and E50D models. The new series marks the company’s move to bring design and manufacturing fully in-house, a change intended to improve machine durability and the operator experience for contractors, landscapers, and municipalities.New Holland Minis 3New Holland

The compact-frame excavators are built for performance in tight spaces, featuring a zero tail swing, long arm options, and a choice of steel or rubber tracks. A standard two-way or optional six-way blade with a float function adds to their versatility. Both models are powered by a Stage V-certified FPT engine that includes Eco Mode and auto-idle to conserve fuel. For attachments, the machines come with dual auxiliary hydraulic lines and an optional third high-flow line for tools like mulchers.

According to Dan Kakareka, product manager for New Holland Construction North America, the design reflects direct feedback from customers. The goal was to create "a machine that works harder, handles better and keeps operators comfortable all day long."

Key features are aimed at jobsite efficiency and fleet management. A tipping cab and large side panels provide easier access to service points, reducing maintenance time. Each model also includes a standard five-year telematics subscription for remote monitoring of machine health and diagnostics.

The operator cab, available as a canopy or fully enclosed, includes a pneumatic suspension seat, joystick-mounted controls, automatic climate control, and a seven-inch LCD display for real-time machine data. The E42D and E50D are now available at New Holland dealerships in North America.
