Unirope has introduced Python DynamiQ, a new rotation-resistant wire rope designed for crawler, tower and mobile crane applications operating under heavy loads and high lifting heights.
The Mississauga, Ontario-based company said the rope was developed to address performance limitations found in traditional hoist ropes used in demanding crane environments.

DynamiQ features a 16-strand compacted outer layer combined with a reinforced core intended to improve torque balance, reduce internal movement and increase structural stability under load. According to Unirope, the rope is suitable for both single-fall and multi-fall reeving applications and is designed to reduce block twisting and rope waviness.
The company said the rope also offers improved resistance to crushing, abrasion and deformation during multi-layer spooling operations on crane drums.
According to Unirope, testing showed up to a 10% increase in breaking strength and up to a 20% improvement in bending fatigue life compared to traditional rope constructions.
