CASE Launches Two Compact Midi Excavators for Tight Jobsites

CASE debuts the CX85E and CX90E midi excavators — compact machines designed for tight jobsites, offering big-machine performance, flexible hydraulics and operator-friendly controls.

Case Mini Excavators

CASE Construction Equipment has expanded its excavator lineup with two new midi models: the CX85E and CX90E. Designed for tight workspaces and a range of applications, these machines combine compact dimensions with the power and performance of larger equipment.

Built for Versatility and Power

Both the CX85E and CX90E are equipped with a 72-horsepower engine and weigh in at just under and over 20,000 pounds, respectively. These models are suited for a wide range of tasks such as trenching, lifting, loading, and grading, and are particularly useful for contractors working in residential or commercial sites, landscaping or equipment rental.

Standard hydraulic systems on both machines support a variety of attachments — hammers, augers, rippers, thumbs and more — without requiring aftermarket changes. Quick coupler circuits and drain-to-tank functionality come built in, allowing operators to switch between tools with ease.

Designed for Confined Spaces

The CX85E features a fixed boom with zero tailswing, making it ideal for operating near walls or other tight boundaries. The CX90E offers a swing boom with 180 degrees of motion, giving it added flexibility for trenching and digging in confined areas.

Operator-Focused Cab and Controls

The new models offer one of the more spacious cabs in their class, with standard climate control and a heated air-suspension seat. A 7-inch LCD touchscreen display, wide visibility and ergonomic joystick controls are designed to improve both comfort and control during long shifts.

Both excavators also include adjustable electro-hydraulic controls, allowing operators to fine-tune responsiveness based on personal preference or jobsite conditions. This adaptability helps maximize productivity and ease of operation when using different attachments.

Jobsite-Ready Options and Simplified Maintenance

Contractors can select from full rubber tracks, multiple widths of steel tracks, or steel tracks with rubber pads to suit various terrain types. Optional LED lighting improves visibility for night or low-light operation.

Routine service tasks are simplified with features like a tilting cab for hydraulic access, wide service panels and ground-level service points.

With their size, strength and customizable features, the CX85E and CX90E are engineered to help crews stay efficient and productive in increasingly complex jobsite conditions.
