XL Specialized to Introduce XL 80 Flat Deck Extendable Trailer at Mid-America Trucking Show

XL Specialized Trailers has launched a new XL 80 Flat Deck Extendable (FDE) trailer using the patented Extend-A-Trac to extend and retract the deck without hooking and unhooking air and electrical lines.

• Rated at 80,000 lbs. overall and 60,000 lbs. concentrated in 10 ft. when closed
• Overall width of 102 in. and overall length of 53 ft. or up to 91 ft. when fully extended
• Air-operated lock pins with extension stops every 60 in.
• Four 6-in. greasable rollers assist the Extend-a-trac in moving smoothly
• Sliding tandem axles adjust using a simple lock pin, which works best with each load’s specific weight distribution
• Available with 49-in. (spring suspension only), 54-in. or 60-in. axle-spread options
• 43-ft.-long rear deck with a 58-in. loaded deck height
• 10-ft.-long front deck includes a 24-in. kingpin setting with 82-in. swing clearance, two-speed landing gear, 49-in. fifth-wheel height and four stake pockets across the front channel for an optional DOT-rated headboard
• Built with T-1 flange and 80K web, with 4-in. junior I-beams on 12-in. centers and 6-in. structural side beams
• 5/16" x 2" rub rail with double pipe spools, stake pockets across the side rails and a steel winch track on the driver’s side offer flexible tie-down locations
