James Frankel, a construction law attorney in the New York office of Arent Fox LLP, has extensive experience in the law of structural failure and collapse. In his career, Mr. Frankel has worked on some of the most prominent cases involving construction failures and collapse, including serving as defense counsel for the structural engineer of the Schoharie Bridge on the New York State Thruway, which collapsed on April 5, 1987, after heavy rains and a series of floods in the area, killing ten people driving on the bridge.  Mr. Frankel also represented the City of New York in connection with claims arising out of the collapse of 7 World Trade Center relating to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
