In recognition of the innovations that have redefined homebuilding this past year, the editors at Constructech magazine are proud to unveil the Residential Top Products Award winners for 2018. The annual awards acknowledge the latest solutions helping residential construction firms of all sizes.
When judging the Top Products, the editors, along with the editorial board and other industry advisors, take into consideration the backbone and core functionality of each platform but also new functionality that will allow homebuilders to develop strategies around mobile, BIM (building information modeling), collaboration and more.
“With the skilled labor shortage, homebuilders need the right technology to improve efficiencies and do more with less,” says Peggy Smedley, editorial director of Constructech magazine. “This year’s Residential Top Products winners demonstrate how technology can be used to heighten worker efficiency in the office and at the jobsite.”
Top Products can fall within three categories: Concept Product (new for 2018), New Product or Trusted Product. The Concept Product category features new technology concepts that are less than three months old, while New Products have been in the market for less than two years, and the Trusted Product category have been in the market for at least three years, and have been upgraded or enhanced.
“Our objective is to do the research so homebuilders don’t have to,” says Laura Black, editor, Constructech magazine. “This year’s Residential Top Products are the best software solutions to implement in 2018 and beyond.”
