Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said in a roundtable discussion this morning that Jeep will introduce a “multipurpose” vehicle that will have a pickup truck-like bed in the back. Speaking of the Gladiator concept vehicle shown last year, Marchionne said, "There’s a better than 50% chance that you’ll get one."
Marchionne's care in avoiding calling this future Jeep a "pickup truck" underscores internal sensitivity to launching a product that might compete with Chrysler's Ram pickups.
So the question remains: will a Jeep pickup be available in North America, Ram's only real market?
