Each May we’ve published our annual Dealer Directory, the industry’s only reference source for the broad range of dealers and suppliers that serve the paving and pavement maintenance industry. It used to be bound into the magazine and then we published it as a stand-alone publication of its own because contractors, manufacturers and dealers told us that would make it easier to use.
Well this year we take another ease-of-use step and we’re not publishing it in print at all – that’s right, no hard copy to thumb through as you look for a supplier of the handicap blue paint you just ran out of 90 miles from your yard. Instead, we’ve taken advantage of the Internet and made the Dealer Directory available online at http://www.forconstructionpros.com/locator/asphalt. And it’s not just available, it’s searchable so rather than flip pages to find the city nearest you, then search dealers in that city for the code that indicates they carry marking paint, you can do it quicker and easier from your phone or tablet.
The link above (bookmark it so you don’t have to remember it) takes you to a landing page where you can enter either the city you’re in or the zip code. You then pick a distance to search within, then scroll through a list of detailed categories and select the one you need (in this case, Paint & Thermoplastic Materials). Once you select the category all the dealers that fit your criteria will appear – it could be one, it could be more than one – and you know where you can buy what you need. Oh, and not only is the online Dealer Directory a breeze to use but each listing includes a “map” button to show you just where that particular dealer is located.
