Earlier this year we presented our first Pavement Awards recognizing work in four categories: Parking lot paving, Paving (non-parking lot), Sealcoating & Striping (large job) and Sealcoating & Striping (small job). We also named B & C Blacktop, Columbus, OH, as our 2015 Contractor of the Year and Hearthstone Property Services, Murfreesboro, TN, as our 2015 Sweeper of the Year. We presented an Industry Service Award, inducted seven people into the newly formed Pavement Hall of Fame, and recognized community support and service through our “Good Neighbor” Award.
And we’re doing it again.
Starting May 15 contractors, manufacturers and basically anyone involved in the paving & pavement maintenance industry will be able to enter their work, their company or an individual for the 2016 Pavement Awards. All entries must be done online at www.ForConstructionPros.com/PavementAwards.
So keep these awards in mind as you bid or approach a job that is especially challenging, unusual – or that just turns out fantastic. And if your company – whether you own it or work for it – is one of those that exemplifies the best in this industry, you should nominate that company. The same holds true for individuals.
So keep us in mind, take great on-the-job pictures, and complete the brief entry form. We don’t expect you to do anything different when you’re out at the jobsite – just do your normal great work. That’s all these awards are intended to recognize.
Deadline for entries is October 1; recipients will be announced at National Pavement Expo, Jan. 27-30 in Charlotte and profiled in the February 2016 issue of this magazine.
