Drivers traveling between Raleigh, NC, and Norfolk, VA, will be traveling on new Interstate 87 within the next decade as construction could being in the next eight years. The new interstate will be approximately 180 miles, cost roughly $1 billion, and link with interstates 64 and 464 to Norfolk.
Construction of I-87 will be divided into two major segments which will be then broken into smaller parts.
