Study Reveals More Opponents than Supporters of Mileage-Based User Fees to Replace Gas Tax

Opponents of mileage-based user fees to generate funding for road construction outnumber supporters 4 to 1

An Indiana University study of more than 2,000 Americans found opponents of mileage user fees outnumber supporters 4 to 1. The study also found opponents were also more likely to take action to prevent the fees from being implemented.

Twenty-three states are currently considering mileage user fees to replace the gas tax used to fund road construction.
