In a surprise move, Asphalt Drum Mixers turned over its top job this week, ending a leadership run that stretched across two decades. The person named to step into his shoes was Brady Umberger president, effective June 22, and confirmed that Mike Devine wrapped up his own tenure as president the same day. This news comes almost exactly two years since the FAYAT Group acquired the asphalt manufacturer.

Umberger comes into the role from TAG Manufacturing, where he served as chief operating officer and led initiatives around operational excellence, growth, and organizational development. Before TAG, he directed operations at BOMAG Americas, another FAYAT Group owned manufacturer, and helped shore up that company's operational foundation. ADM pointed to a hands-on leadership style and a focus on continuous improvement as the qualities Umberger brings to Huntertown.

Devine, however, does leave a long shadow, as he is a prominent and well-known figure in the industry. He took over ADM in 2004 and spent the next twenty-plus years building the company's reputation for quality, innovation, and customer service. He will stay on through July 19 to support the handoff.

"Mike made significant contributions to ADM throughout his tenure and helped shape the strong organization and reputation ADM enjoys today," said Laurent Bianzani, president of FAYAT Mixing Plants. Bianzani welcomed Umberger to the company and said his. "Leadership experience, operational expertise, and commitment to people and customers position him well to lead the company forward."

Umberger framed his arrival around continuity. "I am excited to join the ADM team and look forward to working alongside our employees, customers, and business partners as we continue building on that foundation and pursuing new opportunities for growth," he said. He added that his priority would be to listen to customers, support the team, and protect the service relationships ADM's customers have come to expect.

ADM operates under FAYAT Mixing Plants, part of the France-based FAYAT Group. FAYAT launched in 1957, runs 249 companies across 170 countries, and employs more than 23,000 people. The group reported turnover of 5.9 billion euros in 2025 and positions itself as a road-equipment specialist that covers the full road life cycle.

ADM builds portable, skid-mounted, and relocatable asphalt plants and components from its Huntertown base since 1974. The company has leaned on service and customer support as its calling card across that history.
