TIGER Grants Awarded for 47 More Projects

The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded $485.4 million to 47 highway, bridge, rail, port and other projects in the latest round of TIGER grants

According to Engineering-News Record (ENR), the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded $485.4 million in its latest round of TIGER grants. Forty-seven highway, bridge, rail, port and other projects in 34 states and the District of Columbia will benefit from this fourth round of TIGER grants.

Of the $485-million, ENR says about 35 percent is going to to road and bridge projects; 16 percent to transit; 13 percent to high-speed and intercity rail; 12 percent to freight rail; 12 percent to multimodal, bicycle and pedestrian projects; and 12 percent to ports.

The states receiving the flargest individual grants include Arizona, North Carolina, Illinois, Florida and Ohio.
