Construction of Tampa Waterfront Development to Start in August

A key piece of the project includes a new 12-story college of Medicine and a Health Heart Institute for the University of South Florida

Jeff Vinik unveiled plans for a $1 billion waterfront development near Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay, Fla., back in December. Work on roads, utility pipes and other infrastructure for the project is expected to begin in August. Construction of the first buildings could begin in 2016.
