Metro Charter Amendment 3, an amendment which has both support and opposition from construction industry groups, would require 40% of work hours on Metro construction projects costing $100,000 or more be completed by Davidson County residents. The amendment currently has support of 16 Metro Council members and more than 16,000 Nashville voters signed a petition to put the amendment on the August 6 general election ballot.
Opposition to the amendment argues it would increase government costs and would not result in more employment.
