LA Town Debates Residential Permit Fee to Pay for Infrastructure Needs

Proposed $2,250 impact fee for new residential permits would help pay for needed infrastructure construction and repairs

Youngsville, La., officials are debating whether to levy a fee for new residential permits which could help pay for needed infrastructure maintenance. Mayor Ken Ritter is proposing an "impact fee" that would charge residential developers and home builders $2,250.

The fee will be discussed at the August 13 City Council meeting and could be voted on in September.

Ritter is not proposing the fee be levied against new businesses.
