Condo construction comprised only 5.5% of total U.S. multifamily construction in the first quarter of 2015 — well under its 24% average. That is the smallest percentage of total multifamily construction condo's have represented since the Commerce Department started following construction data in 1974.
While areas like Miami and New York are still experiencing strong condo markets the rest of the U.S. has seen a drop off.
