Construction Company Owner Pleads Guilty to Felony Federal Tax Charge

Phoenix construction company owner faces up to three years in prison and more than $566,000 in restitution for conspiring with insurance agent to illegally lower tax bill

Peter John Mizioch, owner of SPAC Enterprises Inc. and other Phoenix-area construction companies, pleaded guilty to one federal tax count (a felony federal charge) for conspiring with a Goodyear insurance agent to illegally lower his tax bill. Mizioch has agreed to pay more than $566,000 in restitution as part of the plea deal and could face up to three years in prison.

Mizioch was charged with paying fictitious fees to consulting firms in order to reduce his business's income and lower his tax bill between 2004 and 2009.

Mizioch's alleged co-conspirator James Francis Bieleniewicz plead guilty earlier this year.
