Suit alleges Turner is in breach of the contract because of delays and problems with workmanship; county seeking damages and compensatory relief

The battle between Santa Clara County and general contractor Turner Construction Co. over a hospital expansion project will now be taken to the courts. On Sept. 17 Santa Clara County filed a lawsuit with the California Superior Court against Turner Construction. The suit alleges Turner is in breach of the contract because of delays and problems with workmanship. The county is asking for damages and compensatory relief.

The lawsuit also names roofing subcontractor Best Contracting Services Inc. The suit claims negligence on the part of Turner and Best Contracting Services resulted in the roofing system sustaining substantial water damage which damaged other building components.
