OK Supreme Court Orders Construction to Continue on OU Stadium

Stay prevents a halt in construction work until an appeal process can be completed

In late October steel manufacturer HME filed a lawsuit against the University of Oklahoma, Flintco Inc. and W&W Steel relating to construction of a stadium renovation on the OU campus. Last week a Cleveland County judge sided with HME which could have halted construction. However, the state Supreme Court has granted a stay in enforcement of a temporary injunction issued by the Cleveland County judge meaning construction work could continue.

The stay will allow construction work to continue until an appeal process is completed.

The steel manufacturer's suit claims it was the lowest responsible bidder for the project but the contract was wrongfully awarded to the second lowest bidder, W&W Steel.
