NY Mayor Touting Largest Construction Program in Modern History of State

Plan includes a makeover of New York City's Pennsylvania Station and a $22 billion investment in upstate roads and bridges

New York state's governor Andrew Cuomo is set to review his plan for the largest construction program in the state's modern history. The plan includes a makeover of New York City's Pennsylvania Station and a $22 billion investment in upstate roads and bridges.

The Penn Station project also includes a redevelopment of the adjacent James A. Farley post office building as a new station concourse. Authorities will issues a call for proposals from the private sector to design, build and finance the redevelopment soon.

Governor Cuomo also says he plans to dedicate $1 billion to reducing tolls on the New York Thruway.
