New York state's governor Andrew Cuomo is set to review his plan for the largest construction program in the state's modern history. The plan includes a makeover of New York City's Pennsylvania Station and a $22 billion investment in upstate roads and bridges.
The Penn Station project also includes a redevelopment of the adjacent James A. Farley post office building as a new station concourse. Authorities will issues a call for proposals from the private sector to design, build and finance the redevelopment soon.
Governor Cuomo also says he plans to dedicate $1 billion to reducing tolls on the New York Thruway.
