Federal Probe into Buffalo Construction Projects Expands Throughout New York

Investigation that started in Buffalo now includes projects in Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, the Hudson Valley and Brooklyn

In June 2015 the U.S. Attorney in Manhattan subpoenaed records related to "Buffalo Billion" projects including the Solar City project. One year later the federal investigation has picked up speed again, extending to projects in Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, the Hudson Valley and Brooklyn.

LP Ciminelli, the construction manager for the Solar City project, was subpoenaed in the original investigation regarding the project's bidding process. Recently, New York Governor Cuomo's office and two men who work close to Cuomo have also been subpoenaed.

The common thread among many of the projects is they received funding or contracts from SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
