
A survey by Construction Dive showed respondents believe Hillary Clinton would be better for the construction industry than Donald Trump, but only by a slight margin.
Clinton came out ahead with 50.48% of the votes while Donald Trump garnered 46.11%. Just over 3% voted "other".
Reasons behind the results cited factors including experience, temperament and business savvy. Several respondents who believe Clinton is the better presidential candidate for the construction industry cited her support for prevailing wage requirements and her strong union ties. Other respondents cited Clinton's economic and infrastructure plans as well as her support for skill training.
Trump supporters cited his experience in the construction and real estate industries as reasons he is the better candidate for the construction industry. Other respondents like his promises to roll back regulations and cut corporate taxes.
