American Concrete Institute Certification to be Offered in Paragould, Arkansas

ACI Specialty Commercial/Industrial Concrete Flatwork Finisher/Technician program will be held May 23-24

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI-- The American Concrete Institute's (ACI) Specialty Commercial/Industrial Concrete Flatwork Finisher/Technician training certification program will take place May 23-24, 2011, in Paragould, Ark. This is the first time this program has been offered outside of the annual World of Concrete convention.

The program is being held in as a result of a partnership between Allen Engineering Corporation and the Arkansas Ready Mixed Concrete Association (ARMCA). A Specialty Commercial/Industrial Concrete Flatwork Finisher/Technician is a person who has demonstrated a basic knowledge of finishing procedures for Specialty Commercial/Industrial Concrete Flatwork Finishing, including high tolerance floor construction, application of surface treatments, and silica fume concrete, and who has demonstrated skill in operating mechanized finishing equipment.

This program, which will be held at Allen Engineering, will include both a classroom and hands-on training session conducted by Bob Simonelli, Director of Construction Services for Structural Services, Inc. Participants will then take a two-hour, 75-question written examination followed by a hands-on performance examination on the second day. Training materials and meals will be provided.

When: May 23, 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. and May 24, 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.
