New Software Helps Employers Manage Workers Comp Costs

ASHEVILLE, NC - The Institute of WorkComp Professionals (IWCP), in conjunction with a third party vendor that specializes in software for the insurance industry, announces the release of ClaimsIMPACT, a comprehensive claims management software tool. It's designed to assist insurance agents and large employers manage their Workers' Compensation claims efficiently and economically.

Developed from the ground up, the software was field tested by Certified WorkComp Advisors from IWCP, which has trained, tested, and certified insurance professionals as WorkComp Advisors since 2001.

"Over the past few years, we heard from many insurance agents that they needed an affordable claims management software that interfaced with their agency management system and carrier loss run information and did not require a dedicated claims person to operate," stated Kevin Ring, IWCP's Director of Community Growth. "With the input of our members, we guided the development of the software so that it is easy to use and features the tracking information agents need to close claims faster."

One of the most powerful features of the software is its ability to accept imported data from agency management systems and carrier loss run information systems. This saves time, as no manual double entry is needed. In addition, the software produces claim summary reports that agents can share with employers, documenting the progress on claims.

"Claims management is key to reducing the frequency, severity and costs of claims, as well as getting employees back to work as soon as medically feasible. This software gives agents and employers real-time information enabling them to identify problem claims, monitor injured employees' status, and analyze claims to improve results," stated Ring.
