An architecture PhD student at ETH Zurich has developed a reportedly simple solution for building concrete floors in a more climate-friendly way - saving on concrete material and steel used due to its lightweight, robust, and reusable formwork design.
Unfold Form consists of a plywood sheet cut into individual curved strips with textile layers applied to one side to connect them. The plywood strips can be unfolded like a fan on site, causing them to bend into shape.
