Marking the shows 49th edition, World of Concrete continues to grow as one of construction's international hubs for construction buyers and sellers. Jackie James, vice president of World of Concrete says that the 2023 event "welcomes an intentional range of new initiatives brining to the forefront advancements in material ingenuity, growth of the trucking sector, recognized areas of continuing community impact."

Above all in new additions to the show, as sustainability continues to be an increasingly critical focus in the concrete and masonry industry, World of Concrete aims to lower carbon output by introducing renewable electricity in 2023. These efforts are estimated to save 204 tons of carbon dioxide, significantly reducing show carbon emissions. This initiative will be integrated through solar light panels sponsored by Sunbelt and renewable energy sources sponsored by White Cap.

With more than 1,000 exhibtors in the expo hall spanning beyond 700,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor space, from troweling competitions, equipment demos, concrete pumps on display, thousands of concrete tools, and innovative decorative concrete solutions; find these booths, events, and happenings at World of Concrete.

Keep The Pump Level

UnknownDICAThe family-owned and operated company will feature its SafetyTech Outrigger Pads, FiberMax Crane Pads, ProStack Cribbing, SlatTrax, and other Ground and Access Mats at the show. FiberMax Crane Pads are designed to withstand extremely high pressures from construction equipment like concrete pump trucks. They effectively spread outrigger loads and create stability when extra rigidity is needed and weight is a concern.

DICA’s SafetyTech Outrigger Pads and ProStack Slot Lock Cribbing Blocks can be used together to help keep concrete pumpers level when working in tight spaces and uneven terrain. SlatTrax, a temporary worksite access mat, can be used to minimizes damage to lawns, and gives crews a stable work surface. SlatTrax can be deployed mechanically and is a unique solution for companies that are working with light and medium duty equipment.

DICA will showcase products for concrete contractors at booth C4864.

These Hoses Provide 100% Volumetric Accuracy

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS) is showcasing its Bredel hose pumps for handling of concrete. Abrasive grouting mix is no problem for Bredel pumps, which can be used to replace progressive cavity (PC) and centrifugal pumps for a variety of applications, including circulation and transfer of waste return slurry from concrete slab manufacturing processes, transferring the abrasive grouting mix from the mixing tanks into the holds of the seafaring vessels, and pumping the grouting during deep cement mixing (DCM) operation.ChinesegroutingWatson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions

The pumps have overcome fluid leakage and wear issues often associated with piston pumps that struggle with the abrasive nature of the cement, sand, and water mix discharged. Bredel hose pumps offer reduced downtime, maintenance, and costs for spare parts.

  • No moving parts come into contact with the product
  • No mechanical seals
  • Precision machined to ensure flow stability and pump performance in tough fluid handling applications
  • Hose change takes only minutes and can be performed in-situ without special tools or skilled personnel
  • Flow rates up to 475 GPM at 232 PSI
  • Can transfer up to 80% solids in suspension

Visit Booth C6454 to view heavy-duty pumps ideal for handling abrasive concrete.

Work Truck Live!

Work Truck Live! will highlight innovations in the design and configuration of work trucks and accessories that will help contractors increase safety and productivity. Great for Concrete Removal, Bridge & Road Repair

Aquajet will be featuring its Aqua Cutter 750V and the company's revolutionary Infinity oscillation that moves the water jet in an infinity – or figure 8 – pattern, removing more concrete in a single pass while reducing shadowing, eliminating the risk of pipe holes and providing an ideal bonding surface. The 750V's next-generation Evolution 3.0 Control System includes new functions, including the ability to automatically calculate optimal settings for lance motion for greater precision and efficiency. Like all Aqua Cutter Robots, the 750V cleans and descales rebar without causing microfracturing. It also maintains exceptional horizontal, vertical and overhead reach, making it suitable for a wide variety of concrete removal tasks, such as renovation and bridge and road repair.

Another key feature is remote start and stop of the diesel engine through radio remote control, making it possible for the operator to stop or start the robot from a safe distance and eliminating the need for the machine to run all day. In addition, the machine will automatically shut down if there’s no activity for a certain amount of time, saving battery power.

A Seamless Flow of Data

Integrations Graphic CopyEarthwave TechnologyAs paving contractors and heavy construction contractors increasingly adopt technology for greater efficiency, FleetWatcher is one of the leaders by seamlessly integrating with popular software programs. Providing a seamless flow of data further enhances the functionality of programs like Viewpoint, B2W, OnStation, and many more. Data from e-ticketing, cycle counts, tonnage, and more automatically flows from FleetWatcher’s Materials Management Solution (MMS) into the appropriate areas within the software programs, saving time and enhancing accuracy, efficiency, and productivity. With the Fleetwatcher Construction Management Solution (CMS) information like hour meter readings, location, job assignment, and equipment move information is available for import. Directly importing data eliminates manual input and the errors caused during that process. Additionally, data can be imported into Fleetwatcher from Vista such as project and equipment information creating a central source of truth and eliminating duplicate entry of the information. Time savings from elimination of manual input is significant. Heavy construction contractors of all sizes can benefit from this integration by better managing their on-road and off-road assets, utilization, idle-time, productivity, and more to better manage project costs.

Representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the telematics platforms and discuss integration with B2W, Viewpoint, OnStation, and many other popular software programs, booth N1869.
