Construction activity has nearly come to a halt in Seattle as members of the Seattle-area International Union of Operating Engineers Local 302 have entered into a second week on strike. The strike started after the operators rejected a proposed new master labor agreement with the Associated General Contractors of Washington.

Neither party has stated exactly which parts of the proposed agreement are objectionable to the Local 302 members. There currently is no timetable for renegotiation.
