Rated operating capacities (50% of tipping load) for the new Cat 297D and 297D XHP Multi Terrain Loaders are 4,550 lb. and 5,000 lb. respectively. The 297D’s horsepower increased 4% to 95 hp, torque rise is up 13% and lift force jumped 19% compared with the C Series. The 297D XHP’s horsepower rose 17% to 106 hp, peak torque is up 27%, lift force 19% and rated operating capacity increased 10%.
Relief pressure of the XHP model’s auxiliary hydraulic system is 4,061 psi, with max flow of 40 gpm for an industry-leading 95 hydraulic horsepower; 22% more than the 297C.
Cat Intelligent Leveling system enables three automatic loader functions aimed at improved production: 1) electronic dual self-leveling (automatically levels the load both raising and lowering); 2) return-to-dig (automatically lowers lift arms and returns work tools to a preset angle); and 3) work-tool-positioning (automatically returns attachments to a preset angle).
- Industry-exclusive rearview camera
- New one-piece cab is sealed, pressurized and independent of the chassis
- Heating and cooling rates are increased 50%, along with 20% more airflow and a 50% boost in pressurization
- Advanced Display integrates passcode security system that can store up to 50 operators’ control preferences
- New throttle-smoothing feature electronically “clips” extremes of throttle pedal movement in rough terrain to yield steady, even travel speeds
- Rubber track reinforced with high-tensile strength cords
- Torsion axles attach the undercarriage to the tractor and attach the oscillating bogie-wheel frames
- One-piece tubular lift arms add strength to the loader linkage and allow operators a clearer view around three sides of the machine
