Volvo Construction Equipment has launched the EC950 High Reach excavator, the largest high-reach model in its lineup. The machine joins the EC400, EC500 and EC750 High Reach models and is now available in North America.
Designed for multi-story demolition, the EC950 features a modular boom and arm system intended to simplify transport and on-site assembly. With a maximum transport height of 11 ft. 9 in. (3.6 m), the machine includes a hydraulic removable counterweight, detachable tracks and modular components to help contractors stay within standard hauling limits.
Built to meet Volvo’s Ultra High Reach stability criteria, the excavator includes a reinforced undercarriage, heavy-duty ring gear and an 84,000-lb. removable counterweight for high-reach applications.
Safety features include a tilting cab for improved visibility, a total moment indicator to help prevent overloading, Smart View cameras and falling object protection. Standard telematics systems provide machine health and maintenance data.
An integrated dust suppression system with dual water spray nozzles and a high-pressure washer is designed to help control airborne dust on demolition sites.
