The three track models in John Deere's new 9R/9RT Scraper Special Series Tractors -- the 9460RT, 9510RT, and 9560RT -- get a new Durabuilt 5500 Series scraper rubber track. Three new wheeled models -- the 9460R, 9510R, and 9560R -- share other enhancements, including a new cab and standard Efficiency Manager powershift transmissions. The line is powered by the Tier-4-Interim 13.5L PowerTech PSX engine in ratings from 460 to 560 hp.

The Durabuilt 5500 rubber track is a four-ply belt 30-ins. wide. Deere reinforced the track with a heavy-duty main cable and optimized it for puncture resistance.
Deereincorporated its powershift transmission (PST) with Efficiency Manager as base equipment on all 9R/9RT Scraper Special Tractors. A thumb wheel on the shift lever allows the operator to dial in ground speed whenever the tractor is not loading in the cut. Efficiency Manager takes advantage of continuous communication between the engine and transmission controllers to deliver maximum fuel efficiency.
Improvements to the cab include a 10% increase in volume, 7% more glass area, and four times more storage than the previous CommandView cab. The right-hand console was removed and the functions relocated to the redesigned CommandARM, including a new 7-inch colorCommandCenter display. The CommandArm provides fingertip controls of throttle, transmission and some control valves.
