The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has scheduled five in-person Advanced Hands-On Earthmover Tire Service (ETS) training classes for technicians in 2022, with the first to take place Apr. 12 to 15 in Brooksville, FL.
Topics covered include: Service Truck Operation; Preventative Maintenance Training (service truck, crane, compressor, etc.); Site Preparation and Equipment; Hydraulic Tool Operation & Maintenance; Service One-, Three- and Five-Piece (on machine and loose); Wheel & Rim Fastening Systems; and Wheel Inspection.
“Earthmover and OTR tire service requires a higher level of skill to operate the hydraulic tools, cranes and tire handlers, so hands-on training is always going to be the most effective for technicians in this segment of the industry,” says Kevin Rohlwing, TIA’s senior vice president of training. “TIA is fortunate to have supplier and manufacturer partners that support our educational efforts to make sure technicians are aware of the safety procedures and guidelines that must be followed to protect themselves from a serious or fatal injury.”
Class sessions will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays through Thursdays and 8:00 a.m. through noon on Fridays. Students successfully completing a final exam will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Additional classes will be held May 24 to 27, Sept. 13 to 16 and Sept. 27 to 30 in Garner, IA, and Dec. 13 to 16 in Brooksville.
