Never Idle LLC, the contractor-to-contractor marketplace launched a completely new website empowering contractors to generate incremental revenue from idle assets. Never Idle’s mission is to help contractors rent, buy or sell among peers. Never Idle offers the industry its first fully-managed, contractor-to-contractor rental and sales marketplace. It’s not an equipment “Airbnb,” where contractors must put aside their own time and effort to make arrangements with each other. Never Idle handles all the details and communication between parties.

The online marketplace showcases equipment for sale, rent and rental-purchase. Visitors to the site can search for equipment by proximity, brand and category. Once individual equipment has been found, visitors can preview equipment with photos and initiate contact with Never Idle to start the purchase or rental process. While browsing, visitors will find construction equipment for categories such as dozers, excavators, rollers and generators from brands like Cat, Deere, Volvo, Komatsu, Bobcat and JCB.

Traditionally, dealers sell construction equipment through a rental purchase option. Contractors utilize this option because it allows them to accumulate a down payment by applying some of their rental expense toward the purchase of the unit. Also, a rental purchase option allows contractors to test drive machines on an actual job to ensure the equipment performs as expected and that they like its features. Lastly, if a contractor doesn’t have the expected work for the equipment, the contractor can simply return the equipment without exercising the purchase option. Overall, the risk for the contractor is reduced using a rental option.

From the standpoint of the equipment owner, the rental purchase option typically generates a broader set of customers interested in buying and still earns a sale price higher than can be found at auctions.
