Aerial lift manufacturer Snorkel is introducing a new management structure to its sales operation, to better serve its distributors and customers.

Snorkel's world is divided into several sales regions, each of which will be controlled by a regional sales manager. The first change under this structure is the division of the existing Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operation into the Europe Region and the Middle East and Africa Region.

The Middle East and Africa Region is headed by Michael Wright from his base in Bahrain and Snorkel has appointed Enrique Garcia Delgado as regional sales manager, Europe. Enrique's territory encompasses Europe, Scandinavia, the Baltic region and the Russian Federation. He will manage and support Snorkel's district managers, who remain responsible for the identification, recruitment and development of distributors in their territory.

Richard Tindale, global sales & marketing director for Snorkel, said: "Snorkel's distributors are its business. The new regional sales managers will provide direction and support to the district managers, helping them to help our dealers further grow and develop, and will ensure that strategic targets are achieved.

"Enrique has proved he understands the distributor model and knows how to maximise its benefits for the customer, the distributor and of course, Snorkel, as the manufacturer."

Enrique Garcia Delgado started his career in the access business in 2001 with Spanish sales and rental company Termiser, which was the local UpRight distributor. He joined UpRight in February 2008 as an area product support manager. The company soon recognized his ability to build strong customer relationships and his in-depth understanding of commercial issues, promoting him to district manager for Southern Europe in October 2008. Last year, Snorkel further extended Enrique's responsibilities to include part of Latin America, with a particular focus on the major growth market of Brazil.

He holds a Masters Degree in International Business and a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University Polytechnic of Madrid. He speaks fluent Spanish, English, Portuguese and Italian.

Enrique said: "As a former district manager, I understand the challenges of the role and also its unique possibilities. I am looking forward to helping my colleagues make the most of the opportunity, as our industry returns to growth."

Snorkel is also recruiting a regional sales manager for Latin America and any interested applicants should contact Richard Tindale at Snorkel global headquarters in the UK.
