CASE Construction Equipment dealer Trekker Group donated the use of a CASE SV185 skid steer loader to help Team Rubicon finish rebuilding the home of Earl Bishop, an Army veteran, and his wife Elizabeth.
The Bishop’s home, located in Immokalee, FL, sustained substantial physical and flood damage during Hurricane Irma in 2017. After the Bishops realized the money provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) would not do enough to make their home livable, Team Rubicon and the Salvation Army stepped-up to help, launching ‘The Bishop Rebuild.’
The two agencies collectively ripped-up and replaced all flooring, demolished and rebuilt the bathroom and kitchen, then started rebuilding the home over the course of two months. Team Rubicon used the CASE SV185 skid steer to complete grading and material handling on the site.
“Our partnership with Team Rubicon allows us to help rebuild communities after natural disasters, and The Bishop Rebuild is a perfect example,” said Michel Marchand, vice president – North America, CASE Construction Equipment. “Local CASE dealer, Trekker Group, stepped to the plate by donating the use of an SV185 skid steer that played a major role in supporting this latest mission.”
The Bishop Rebuild was unveiled to Earl and Elizabeth Bishop on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, roughly 18 months after the home was destroyed by Hurricane Irma.
