Metabo, a German international manufacturer of professional-grade cordless and corded handheld power tools and accessories in the U.S., has introduced the new 18V 1-1/8-in. SDS-Plus Combination Hammer.
“We are excited to introduce the KH 18 LTX BL 28 Q, 18V 1-1/8-in. SDS-Plus Combination Hammer. This hammer is meant for drilling into masonry, concrete and stone for anchoring. It’s also ideal for through-hole applications, doweling, chiseling and demolition. The combination hammer includes enhanced kick-back control for safer drilling," said Joseph Masters, Metabo’s senior product manager.
There are two versions available, bare tool (KH 18 LTX BL 28 Q - 601715840) and bare with ISA 28 dust extractor (KH 18 LTX BL 28 Q ISA 28 – 601715900). The KH 18 LTX BL 28 Q when combined with the ISA 28, allows for dust-free drilling in concrete, stone and masonry.
The KH 18 LTX BL 28 Q has three-mode operation for drilling with impact, drilling and chiseling. The combination hammer has a maximum impact rate of 4,470 bpm with three joules. Its no-load speed is 0-1,000 rpm. The tool can hammer drill in masonry with core bits up to 3-1/4 in. and drill in concrete up to 1-1/8 in.
The 18V 1-1/8-in. SDS-Plus Combination Hammer features a brushless motor and kick-back control with gyroscopic senser. It measures the bits rotation and stops the tool if it gets stuck during operation. The KH 18 LTX BL 28 has Vario-Constamatic Full-wave Electronics, which allows the tool to maintain the number of blows and rpm under load during drilling.
In addition, this combination hammer includes a power reduction feature that reduces material fragmentation when breaking through and supports chiseling. The KH 18 LTX BL 28 Q includes several safety features such as Metabo’s patented safety clutch system, which helps keep end-users safe when a bit jams. It includes Metabo’s MVT anti-vibration system, decreasing hand and arm vibrations. There is also a chiseling lock-on feature for extended use.
