Louisiana Residential Contractor Found Guilty of Construction Fraud

Owner of Southern Siding in Louisiana charged with fraud and theft of assets of aged persons, being investigated for mortgage fraud

Baker Police Department in Baton Rouge, La., arrested Tawnier Bhatti, the owner of Southern Siding, and has charged him of fraud and theft of assets of aged persons. Beat pleaded no contest to a count of "performing new residential construction or home improvements contracting services over $75,000 without possessing the proper State Residential Building License." There is also an ongoing investigation in alleged mortgage fraud.

Bhatti was also found guilty of "performing contracts in an unworkable manner or has failed to complete contracts with no good cause, or has engaged in fraud or bad faith."

Bhatti has been cited for similar violations in both 2009 and 2011 and is also accused of similar charges in other parishes.
