British Workers Win Millions in Blacklisting Settlement

Construction companies agree to pay millions in compensation to 256 workers who claimed they were not hired based on political views, trade union activities and competence

British workers who claimed they were blacklisted by construction companies have won over $14 million in compensation after a legal battle ended in a settlement. Defendant construction firms reached a settlement with union Unite that will split over $14 million among 256 workers.

Workers claimed they were not hired for construction work based on political views, competence and trade union activities.

In April, two other unions reached a separate settlement with construction companies over the blacklisting scandal.
