FAYAT Group has acquired full ownership of the Mecalac Group, a manufacturer known for its range of compact construction equipment designed for urban job sites. Mecalac’s product lineup includes excavators, loaders, dumpers and backhoe loaders, with manufacturing operations in France, Germany, the UK, and Turkey.

With this acquisition, Mecalac becomes part of FAYAT’s Road Equipment Division, which focuses on road-building equipment. The addition of Mecalac’s compact equipment is expected to strengthen the division’s capabilities, particularly for urban construction projects. Following the acquisition, the division now operates 29 production sites across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

FAYAT, a family-owned business with a long history in civil works construction equipment, plans to support Mecalac’s ongoing stability and global customer relationships. Within FAYAT, Mecalac will continue to operate autonomously, maintaining its brand and product offerings. Mecalac is also expected to collaborate with other companies within the group to develop new technologies and expand its distribution network.

“This acquisition presents new opportunities for both FAYAT Group and its customers,” said Jean-Claude Fayat, President of FAYAT Group. “Mecalac’s expertise in the urban construction equipment market adds a valuable dimension to our operations. Its technologies will help strengthen and complement our current product ranges, particularly for urban worksites.”
