The city of Denver is currently in an office construction boom that could change the downtown skyline and commercial core. According to the Downtown Denver Partnership, 1.8 million square feet of commercial office space was under construction at the end of June. That's almost 50% more space than what has been constructed since 2010.

One of those projects currently under construction is the Hines 40-story skyscraper, which will be the tallest office tower built in Denver since the 1980s. The project began in June with expected completion in 2018 at a cost of more than $300 million. However, the Hines project is just one of the many projects that have brought about a $4.8 billion total investment in downtown Denver since 2010.
