For the seventh consecutive year, World Sweeping Association (WSA) has awarded two college scholarships for the upcoming school year in honor of two influential members of the sweeping community. The awards are presented to “an aspiring student with connections to the power sweeping industry.”

The recipient of a $2,000 Dale McCaskill Sr. Memorial Scholarship is Sarah Krawczyk, who recently graduated from SC Connections Academy. She will attend Coastal Carolina University starting this fall. Sarah was eligible for the scholarship because her mother, Elizabeth, works at Southco Sweeping and Maintenance, Darlington, SC, as the company’s CFO. Because Southco Sweeping and Maintenance is a WSA member Sarah’s scholarship amount is doubled from $1,000 to $2,000.

The recipient of a $2,000 Carl J. Austin Memorial Scholarship is Abby Schenck, who graduated with an ddvanced degree from Corner High School and will attend Bevill State Community College this fall. Abby was eligible for the scholarship because her father, John, is operations manager at power sweeping company, CAM South, dBA Sweeping Beauty. Because CAM South is also a WSA member, the $1,000 normal scholarship amount was doubled from $1,000 to $2,000.
