The Illinois Tollway will spend $241 million on new projects next year thanks to the near-doubling of tolls that goes into effect Jan. 1, according to a tentative budget unveiled Wednesday.
The tollway plans $607 million worth of capital projects under the agency's proposed $973 million budget that Executive Director Kristi Lafleur said "holds the line on (tollway) operating costs across the board."
The proposed budget includes money for several projects that mark the start of the tollway's 15-year, $12.1 billion construction program.
