The Terex Advance FD4000 Front Discharge mixer truck boasts multiple component upgrades that increase payload and improve performance. The truck’s lighter weight rear tandem axle design allows customers to efficiently run either super single or dual tires, increasing its flexibility to be used in multiple markets.

The FD4000 truck’s new Meritor DualTrac rear axles feature disc brakes to reduce stopping distance. Axle design increases bearing life by effectively repositioning wheel bearing loading similar to that of dual tire configurations when used with single 0-0.56-in. outset wheels. A lighter weight and less expensive option to wide track housing, DualTrac gives companies the ability to convert between wide-based single tires for increased fuel economy and higher payload capacity and duals for greater tractive effort. The new rear axle offers a full 40,000-lb. rating with no de-rate necessary.

The SAF Holland ADZ Vocational air drive rear tandem suspension reduces overall truck weight and, building on the field-proven AD series, combines advanced designs and technologies with proven testing procedures for a simplified, straight forward design. A one-piece integral lower module eliminates the traditional bushing design to significantly increase roll stability by more than 25 percent over conventional options. Featuring premium shock absorbers to improve ride and longevity, the new suspension incorporates welded axle and unique single EZ-Align connections to eliminate maintenance and simplify alignment procedures.

The truck’s light-weight Meritor front axle offers a 42-degree wheel cut to reduce turn radius and features disc brakes.

Terex Advance now offers as an option for the FD4000 truck the ZF CML 12 drum drive with re-engineered pedestal mounting that reduces truck weight over other drive designs to increase payload capacity. The truck’s standard 11-cu.-yd. drum is constructed with a 3/16-in-thick hardened AR400 brinell steel shell to provide the optimum balance between impressive wear-resistance and low weight to maximize payload.

All Terex Advance front discharge mixer trucks ordered with the Premium Package include the Terex-exclusive Total Control System.

Built from the chassis up in the Terex Ft. Wayne, Ind. truck manufacturing facility, the Terex Advance FD4000 Front Discharge mixer truck is powered by the Cummins ISX 12, 385-hp diesel engine delivering 1,450 ft-lb. torque. The engine also offers power and torque ratings of 350-hp/1,450 ft-lb. and 425 hp/1,550 ft-lb. Additionally, customers can opt for the MTU Series 1300 (DD13) engine with 350-, 380- and 450-hp packages to meet application demands. To meet the customer’s long-term environmental sustainability plans, the truck can also be powered by a Clean Cummins ISX-12G compressed natural gas (CNG) engine that offers similar power and torque ratings as the diesel models.
