Kenworth’s PACCAR TX-12 PRO and TX-18 PRO automated transmissions are now available on T880 and W990 trucks equipped with PACCAR engines and a rear engine power take-off (REPTO). The move allows these Class 8 trucks to be used in concrete mixer and other REPTO-driven applications.
This expansion allows for more flexibility when specifying vocational trucks and ensures reliable, integrated powertrain performance.
The TX-12 PRO 12-speed transmission is designed for on-highway and lighter vocational use, with up to 1,700 lb.-ft. of torque and predictive shifting that adapts to road conditions and load. The TX-18 PRO offers 18 forward speeds and six reverse speeds for heavy vocational applications, supporting up to 1,850 lb.-ft. of torque and optimized gear selection for maximum traction and productivity.
Both transmissions feature PACCAR’s Extreme Duty clutch for low-speed maneuverability, a Rock Free mode to assist trucks in challenging terrain, off-highway calibration, and a driver-friendly column-mounted shifter that integrates gear selection, engine brake and performance controls.
