Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Inc. has announced plans for a new $280 million production facility in South Carolina and provided updates to its medium-duty truck lineup during its 2025 Dealer Meeting. The company also outlined its goal to reach 50,000 annual unit sales in the U.S. and Canada by 2030.
The announcements were made at the company’s dealer event held Oct. 22-24, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Noboru Murakami, Chairman and CEO of Isuzu North America Corporation, detailed the $280 million investment in a new 1,000,000-sq.-ft. production facility in Piedmont, South Carolina. The plant is expected to employ more than 700 people by the end of 2028 and is part of Isuzu’s Project IX 2030 growth plan, which identifies North America as a core market.
“The marketplace is changing faster than ever, but Isuzu is changing with it,” said Shaun Skinner, President of Isuzu Commercial Truck of America and Isuzu Commercial Truck of Canada. “From new facilities and advanced technologies to tools that help our dealers succeed, we’re investing in growth and innovation.”
Product Lineup and Future Technology
Isuzu presented previews of its upcoming product changes. The next-generation N-Series Gas trucks will feature a new cab design for model year 2028.
Updates to the F-Series Diesel will include the B7.2 Cummins engine, a redesigned cab, new ADAS safety features and a refined interior.
As part of its long-term electrification strategy, Isuzu is also developing a battery-electric F-Series truck. The company is collaborating with Accelera by Cummins on the platform’s development and testing for the North American market.
“Our diesel and gas trucks will continue to lead the way, but we’re also focusing for what’s next — from advanced safety and connectivity to future zero-emission and autonomous technologies that keep our customers moving,” said Skinner.
