Truck-Lite has introduced a Trailer Back Up Safety System designed to improve visibility and safety during reversing operations. The system is expected to be available for 2027 trailer builds.
The system combines reverse lighting and an audible alarm to address limited visibility behind trailers in yards, loading docks and parking areas. Truck-Lite said the system is designed to provide a more accessible option for fleets and OEMs, with simplified installation and lower overall cost compared to traditional solutions.
Key features include improved illumination behind the trailer to support driver visibility and awareness, along with audible alerts to signal movement to nearby workers and vehicles. The system is intended to help reduce backing-related accidents, including collisions and jobsite injuries, while improving maneuvering efficiency in low-light conditions.
