Cat Trial 14: The Track Type Tractor That Became Caterpillar

In this latest production, Cat Trial 14: After Hours pays homage to 100 years of history, starting with the very first time one of its machines was called a Caterpillar.

Caterpillar Corporate Archivist Lee Fosburgh tells the story of how two competitive families consolidated their businesses and designed the first experimental model of the Cat Twenty and created the legacy that is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. Fosburgh and a team of Caterpillar employees and enthusiasts talk to Equipment Today Editor-in-Chief Kathy Wells about how and why Caterpillar went from an agricultural company to an iconic brand well beyond the industries it serves. Watch the video to see Cat dozer serial number 0000 the very first one! and more pieces of this storied history.
